Healing Through Photography is a beautiful and meaningful conference that I first got involved with as a volunteer two years ago. That experience became a turning point—it helped me realise how photography could be a powerful tool for my mental wellbeing.
Taking pictures, editing them, and playing with colours became more than just a hobby; they became a way for me to stay grounded, creative, and emotionally centred.
The conference also introduced me to new and inspiring ideas—like peace photography—and showed me how photography can be a pathway to healing, self-expression, and even community care. It opened my mind to new possibilities, not just as an artist but also as someone who deeply values emotional and mental health.
In 2023, I was fortunate enough to volunteer. It was a joy to meet so many inspiring photographers and beautiful souls. That experience reaffirmed my decision to stay connected to this journey.
This year was extra special. I had the opportunity to perform a Sufi song with my musical instrument on the second day before the conference officially began.
Bringing together music and photography—my two creative loves—on such a platform was truly fulfilling.
A huge thanks to Belfast Exposed for organising this incredible conference, and a heartfelt thank you to Lucy Morgan, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and on the ground to make sure everything ran smoothly.
Lucy is such a powerful and inspiring woman—always on her toes to help everyone, and she pulled the whole event together in a way that left no one disappointed.
I truly admire her work.
Once again, I was lucky to meet so many amazing souls— José, Emmer, Engrid, Siobhan, Shey, Bernie, Leslie, and many more. I also had the chance to interact with some well-known celebrity photographers, and the energy, warmth, and connection throughout the event was simply unforgettable.
Healing Through Photography continues to be a journey of connection, creativity, and healing—and I’m so grateful to be part of it.
